Introductions - My Intro Admin - Wed May 18, 2005 3:06 pm Post subject: My Intro
Well i thought i may as well get the ball rolling here on the new forums:-
My Names Dave
Aged 37 (Old i know for the IT Industry)
I have worked in many roles during my illustrious career from basic IT Support, Networking engineer, Level 3 Support, Engineering, Head of IT Security and over the last 4 years have branched into Web development using PHP/MySQL.
I have dabbled in Perl, am a DBA but never had to use it in earnest. In fact Jack of all Trades, master of none
I am a Brit, but at present am just coming to the end of 1.5 years toruing around Europe on a large Motorhome (RV to you Americans) with Satellite Broadband fitted to keep me hooked up !!
Now over to you guys Snafu - Fri May 20, 2005 10:56 am Post subject:
Hi,
Real name is SNAFU! Yes really!
I'm even older than Admin, at 44 + (if Admins old, then I'm almost a dinosaur, now where's that Velociraptor hiding?).
Also a Brit, worked in IT roles for over 15 years, yes I remember and have used Windows 3.1, Sinclair Spectrums, no hard disks etc ...... YAWN ..... Presently taking contract roles in level 3 support and networking. In the future I want to take up Cicso certification as this appears to be a 'always required' certification. Issue here is getting hands on Cisco practise, not just taking the test.
Why dumps?
Rant starts.....
Cos an MCSE gets you work! Given a fair chance then most IT enginers not only talk the talk but they can walk the walk! The issue I have is the cost of getting the certs. So why spend thousands when a dump will get you to the interview!
Rant ends.......
Hey ho,
Toodle pip!
TTFN............

I'm currently seeking a degree (CEET) and was directed by my Instructor to visit this site. I can now see why, this site seems to directed to all those persons that are seeking carrers in IT. I will be returning to this site to get your assistance in completion of my classes. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi there,
I'm yet another Brit called Dave and at 51 years old it looks like I'm surrounded by kids like Admin and Snafu
My main line is hardware of specialised computer machine control. I want the certs because I finally had enough of the British weather and I plan to move to the USA. Hopefully the certs will make finding work over there easier.
Lamm2003 - Mon Oct 24, 2005 4:55 am Post subject: Hello, My name is Teddy and I am from the US and as is the Admin I too am 37. I was a late bloomer in the IT field but have currently started my own business in PC repair and home/small business networking with the hopes of, after getting it off the ground and running well without me over seeing it daily, branching out into sourced out IT services for small businesses in the area. I am pleased to be a part of this community and hope to be able to help many more IT professionals fulfill their goals of certifications.Jesseflgrl - Mon Oct 24, 2005 8:00 pm Post subject: PMPExam I am looking for some PMP brain dumps, exam questions if possible. Hello young people,
My name is Don from US. I am 53, so do not want to here 30-somethings say they are old.
I teach the certification programs (A+, Network+, MCSE:2003) at a major college. We have a fifth year program where newly minted Bachelor Degree student come to me for a 12 month cert program.
The program involves more hands-on then lecture and provides some real world experience. I use the dumps to monitor the types of questions that are being ask. Provides me with a guideline as to lecture subjects and lab development.
Like Snafu, I am working on my Cisco stuff. Guess I have an advantage because I have all kinds of equipment at my disposal to play with.
Hope the forums become more active.

Hi all,
I am Jim and i am originally from Wilmington North Carolina but i recently moved to Tallahassee Florida. I am 31 and have been in the field for a few years. I always had a strong interest in computers but thought i had missed my window until a company i worked for(Corning Optical Fiber) layed off over 1200 people and i happened to be one of them. Since we were unionized they had to provide schooling when they layed us off so i went back to college but to a tech college this time around and took A+, Net+ and the MCSE entire curriculum. I currently have my A+, Net+, DCSE(Dell), MCSE 2000 and MCSE 2003. I am concentrating right now on my CCNA mainly because i am heavy into the Pix configs and i want to get my CCSP but the CCNA is a prerequisite. I am married with 2 children which takes up alot of my time. Outside of computers and family i am very into sports. I am not the typical computer geek people think of. I was always a jock throughout school and played football in college. So i kind of got a late start but because of how much i enjoy what i am doing i feel i catch on pretty quickly. I am here and willing to help anyone at anytime so if you have an issue dont hesitate to Private message me.
